Japanese Big Five Firm Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has planned to open an office in New York in this autumn, as a result of its plan to expand their networks outside Asia. It follows the footsteps of the top Japanese Law Firms, Nishimura & Asahi, and Nagashimha Ohno & Tsunematsu.
As per a statement from MHM, this new office aims to tap the demand for legal services from recovering economies after the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Japanese firms have currently developed several overseas offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Yangon, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. Last year October, MHM entered an Association in Indonesia with the local firm ATD Law.
